Editorial and corrections policy

People read these pages to decide what to keep, what to cancel and what to switch to. A wrong price or a wrong date makes that decision for them, so every figure points back to the page or document it was read in, with the day.

Who is responsible

Radif Partners, reachable at contact@subscriptionpricesus.com.

What we read

  • the plan, pricing, help or sign-up page each service publishes for the United States;
  • copies of those pages kept by the Internet Archive, for prices that are no longer shown, cited with the capture date;
  • annual reports, current reports and press releases filed by the company with the SEC, when they state a fee and its effective date.

Sources we refuse

News articles, blogs, forums, coupon and deal sites never supply a price, even when they are right; they can only tell us that a page is worth reading again. A price shown on a search engine's results page is not read as a source. When no official page could be read, the plan is shown without a price.

Dates of changes

A company announces a price, applies it to new customers on one day and to existing customers at their next renewal. We give the dates we can prove: the last copy of the official page that still shows the old price and the first that shows the new one. When a filing gives the effective date, we quote it.

Corrections

  1. We open the official page or document again.
  2. We correct the data file and its reading date.
  3. The site rebuilds and every page that shows the price shows the new figure and date.
